Attention Carriers: If you haven't already heard the news, on May 7, 2007 the Surface Transportation Board issued a historical ruling to end anti-trust immunity for collective tariff rate-making for the moving industry. On or before January 1, 2008 every interstate moving carrier must create, publish, and begin using its own independent moving tariff. What this means for you is that you must not, under penalty of law, use the same moving tariff to run your business that is being used by any another moving company. For those operators that were or are still using tariff bureau issued tariffs, such as the 400N Tariff, they must cease using those tariffs by the beginning of 2008. read more
